OVERVIEW

This course provides candidates with the knowledge and skills relevant to the supervision and operation of an aquatic facility, plant and associated equipment and the monitoring and maintaining of water quality. This course is the industry standard for pool supervisors as documented in the NSW Department of Local Government Practice Note No. 15.

Description

This course involves theory and practical components including:

  • Pool maintenance
  • Filtration systems
  • Developing maintenance programs
  • Water monitoring
  • Equipment operation
  • Routine water testing safe chemical handling
  • Implementing workplace policy and procedure
  • Standards and legislation
  • Disinfection procedures
  • Risk analysis
  • Responding to emergencies.

On completion of the four day program candidates are required to complete an “On-the Job” Workbook where access to an operational aquatic centre is required.
