Competitive Strokes
This course provides the candidate with an opportunity to further development the competencies of AUSTSWIM Teacher of swimming and Water Safety holders in the teaching of competitive strokes.
Description
The course consists of approximately 15 contact hours (theory and practical), plus practical observation, supervised teaching hours and assessment. Topics include:
- Towards competitive strokes
- External influences and conditions
- Instructional styles
- Learning - make it work
- Development of competitive strokes technique
Holders of the Teacher of Competitive Strokes Award will automatically gain recognition of prior learning (RPL) for specific requirements of the Australian Swimming Green Licence Course.
Course Information
Pre-requisite: AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety CertificateCourse Duration: 7.5 hours plus nominal 10 hours practical teaching
Certification: Successful candidates will receive the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes Certificate.Fee Includes: AUSTSWIM learning resources, Instruction, pool entry, and AUSTSWIM Certification
What to Bring: Swimmers, 2 towels, warm clothing, lunch, hat, and sunscreen.
